wine by the color

At some point today I'll get around to some stories and comments from the last few days. But first, I need to address this gem from a magazine I won't name except to say it rhymes with Bus Meekly...

There is a brief story about the new single from Kevin Federline (Mr. Britney Spears, for those not in the know), which is called "PopoZao" and is only available online, since he doesn't have a label. The absolute only reason I'm mentioning this is because they asked someone in the music business what he thought of the song. And this is what Steve Martin of Nasty Little Man (which is apparently a public relations firm for bands like the Foo Fighters) had to say:

"This will never be a hit. The American music-buying people will not stand for such flagrant disregard for grammar."

Amen, brother.

That is the greatest quote ever and I think it is also the one that has finally tipped the scales and compelled me to subscribe to the magazine.

Yeah, because "Drop it like it's hot" and that "Skeet Skeet" song are such shining examples of fine syntax. Please. This country forgot how to read and write the day they began considering Dr. Dre and his ilk to be a poet.

Personally, I'm shocked that schools across this land have not updated their literary curriculum, replacing the writings of Hemingway, Twain and Melville with the complete works of Snoop Doggy Dog.

    Fuck MTV!

Besides, if the American public will stand for Ashlee Simpson, why won't they tolerate this cat? He's related to a star, too. And he HAS to have more talent than Ashlee. Hell, the batch I dropped this morning has more talent than Ashlee Simpson.

Sandman, that's exactly why the quote is so funny. Of course awful grammar is rampant in today's music.
